** Please note ** On 1 November 2018, it was announced by the government that the five councils in Buckinghamshire will become a Single Unitary Authority in April 2020 [Aylesbury Vale DC, Buckinghamshire CC, Chiltern DC, South Bucks DC and Wycombe DC]. Any changes made to the structure of local authorities in the County may affect council employees in the future. Therefore, the five councils have agreed to restrict applications to this position to current employees of the five councils for a period of 14 days from 11 October 2019 to 25 October 2019. External candidates are welcome to submit their applications at any point, however, if a current employee applies during this 14 days period, their application will be assessed prior to the council considering applications from external candidates.

We are looking for someone to join the busy Licensing Unit in the Environment Service which deals with liquor licensing, taxi licensing, entertainments and charity collections. The work is varied and fast moving providing close administrative support to the Licensing Team Leader and the Licensing Officers. You will be involved in processing licensing applications including database updating, preparing licences, inspection of licensed vehicles and the invigilation of driver knowledge tests.

As well as being a good administrator you should have experience of dealing with customers in a service organisation, together with good computer and keyboard skills. You will need to be well organised and demonstrate a commitment to customer satisfaction. In return we can offer you interesting, challenging work and an opportunity to develop your skills.
