Further information

To work as a member of Planning Support Services providing support to the Planning Service. This will involve administrative work in the processing of building control requests, planning applications and the provision of planning advice. Starting with basic admin tasks there is the opportunity to rapidly advance to more complex additional tasks.

During the apprenticeship, which can be delivered at Level 2 or Level 3 depending on applicant ability, you will be trained in various tasks including:

•The administrative support elements in processing of building control, planning and related applications (both delegated and committee). Logging of correspondence on spatial and textual computer database systems and producing constraints and history reports.

•Provision of telephone advice (general enquiry), written advice (history/permitted development enquiries, etc.)

Document Management:
•Provision of appropriate electronic document management service and support. Filing and Management of Service Records and Archiving systems, scanning and indexing documentation as required.

•Assist in the administration of planning and related appeals.

•Misc tasks as required e.g. production of management reports, etc. Administrative and technical support as required by the services within Planning and Sustainability.
