Play your part in local democracy in this interesting administrative opening.

We are looking to recruit electoral canvassers to assist with the compilation of the electoral register calling on properties within the Wycombe District area to obtain information relating to electoral registration.

The register will be published on the 1 December 2018 following a canvass period of approximately 5 weeks with fees varying depending on the number of households allocated. Canvassing will then continue throughout the year and opportunities may be available after this initial period.

The main role of the electoral canvasser will be to visit properties that have not responded to a household enquiry form delivered to the property and to encourage individuals who have been invited to register onto the electoral register to complete their applications.

You must have experience of working with the general public, local knowledge of the area in which you are applying to work and must not be politically active. All training and materials will be provided including a mobile app which will enable information to be recorded electronically on the doorstep.

The majority of visits will be most effective during evenings and weekends, meaning it can fit in with other commitments and will commence from the end of October 2018.

For an informal discussion, please contact Matt Rae [Electoral Services Manager] on 01494 421242.
