** Please note ** On 1 November 2018, it was announced by the government that the five councils in Buckinghamshire will become a Single Unitary Authority in April 2020 [Aylesbury Vale DC, Buckinghamshire CC, Chiltern DC, South Bucks DC and Wycombe DC]. Any changes made to the structure of local authorities in the County may affect council employees in the future. Therefore, the five councils have agreed to restrict applications to this position to current employees of the five councils for a period of seven days from 28 January to 3 February 2019. Finance and Commercial Department

Following a restructure of its Finance function, the Council has added a new role of Finance Business Partner who can add real value to the business and provide insight into the financials for service delivery operations as well as back office business units.

This is a commercial position which will suit a business-minded finance professional who enjoys building relationships and supporting decision-making.

Budgeting and forecasting: You will develop relationships and work closely with the business with a key involvement in the development of business plans, analysis of actual performance and reforecasting. You will challenge the operational managers as well as support them in projects and delivering on cost efficient services to the local community.

You will use your knowledge and understanding to support the organisations reporting requirements as well as reporting back to the operational managers to help them better understand their financial performance.

The role requires a thorough individual who is driven to deliver high quality analysis and output, with the ability to work both collaboratively within and across teams, as well as providing constructive challenge where necessary.

You will also play a lead role in the development and enhancement of the team and its processes that support the analysis and reporting.

The ideal candidate will be a part-qualified CCAB Accountant and will have true Business Partnering experience with non-finance managers within a large organisation. This role offers fantastic opportunities to develop personally, broaden your professional experience and the chance to work closely with Senior members across the Council.

Due to the nature of this post, it is exempt under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and a standard DBS check will be carried out.
